Smoking Cessation

Type of Service

Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

Alternatives for Youth (AY) provides community treatment services to youth ages 12-22 years, and those who care about them. Services include drug and alcohol education, assessment treatment and referral. We also provide support to community services through training, education and consultation on the issues of substance use and youth. Alternatives for Youth provide individual or group support for youth who want to quit smoking.

Program Restricted To

Youth

Access Information

Other forms of assessment, beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools, required to access this program are intake forms. Requests for individual or group program should be directed to the intake worker. Given the questionable utility of smoking cessation groups for youth, Alternatives for Youth does not advertise the availability of smoking cessation groups but will provide upon request. We support the local youth action and anti-tobacco initiatives as a better alternative approach.
