Program Description

The Methadone Maintenance treatment program is an on-site clinic for individuals who are dependent on opiates. Methadone is a replacement therapy for heroin and prescribed opiates, which reduces the risks and harmful effects of drug use. Counselling, case management and referrals to other resources such as Hepatitis C nurse, needle exchange, groups, and educational classes are available through the Clinic.

Access Information

There are other forms of assessment, beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools required to access this program. Standardized methadone assessment as outlined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Clients must complete assessment process prior to accessing the clinic. Number of methadone clients is limited to 40. Pregnant women are given priority. On-site methadone clinic times are Monday and Thursday afternoons.
