Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

This is a bio-psychosocial program which looks at strategies for harm reduction and/or abstinence-based models for dealing with problematic substance use. The program provides assessments and counsels individuals who may have concerns around their use of alcohol and/or other drugs. Groups that may be offered are: Structured Relapse Prevention and Anger Solutions.

Access Information

There are other forms of assessment, beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools required to access this program for those participating in the methadone program. Clients may be referred by other organizations, or may self-refer by telephone or in person. The program provides outreach to various locations (i.e., jails) and communities (i.e., Thessalon). On occasion, telephone counselling may be available.
