Type of Service

Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

Bellwood's Continuing Care/Aftercare Program provides a system of support to help with the challenges of early recovery. It gives the opportunity to build on the foundation of knowledge and coping skills developed while in residential treatment. The program includes: a weekly support group for clients within commuting distance and up to two Mini-Treatment Programs (2.5 day refresher programs) throughout the year for out of town clients; assistance in arranging continuing care in home community, including identification of 12-Step meetings; regular contact with a Recovery Counsellor; 24-hour emergency telephone support; eight-week relapse prevention group, if recommended. A weekly online aftercare group is available for out-of-town clients, based on demand. The Continuing Care Program is available to anyone who has successfully completed a Bellwood residential treatment program. Those who completed a Bellwood outpatient treatment program, or treatment at another treatment centre, may also be eligible. A Family Continuing Care Program is available for family members of individuals with an addiction, regardless of whether or not their loved one has completed treatment.
