Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

Individuals in the early stages of addiction who do not have medical issues requiring ongoing attention may be suitable for outpatient treatment services for alcohol, drug, and gambling and sexual addiction, as well as for eating disorders. The primary goals of Bellwood's outpatient services are to help people identify problems, examine their behaviours, and develop new coping strategies. The frequency and content of these programs are tailored to individual needs. Family counselling may be part of outpatient services.

Access Information

The MOHLTC-approved standardized assessments are not required. Must be detoxified three to seven days (depending on substance and use). Recommend that client abstain from psychoactive chemicals for at least 72 hours before admission. However, Bellwood can provide detoxification on site on a fee-for-service basis or can assist in finding community based detoxification. Client must be within commuting distance to Bellwood.
