Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

The Elizabeth Fry Society Relapse Prevention Program, for adult women, consists of skill building modules and learning objective (tools) designed to help women explore, recognize and understand causes of relapse. Using a holistic approach, participants are encouraged to acknowledge their individual strengths and challenges as a step in managing their urges, lives, and relationships. The program looks at factors associated with relapse (and addiction) from the bio-psychosocial perspective and helps participants: build confidence, recognize relapse triggers, and to make healthy choices. The Relapse Prevention Program is offered in one-on-one sessions, or in a group sessions of up to 10 (max.) program participants. Depending on the needs of the individual, the length of the program can vary between 10 - 12 weeks. This program extends to the Ottawa Carleton Detention Center (OCDC) on a weekly basis where addiction counseling, assessment, and group work is done and continued at our community office once the client is released from OCDC.
