Type of Service

Day/Evening Care - Addictions

Program Description

The Choice's program model targets the primary social and psychological factors that lead youth to engage in substance use and other risk-taking behaviors. Three Choice's groups are held each year at various locations. Our program objectives are: 1) Improve participant's goal-setting, self-control, decision-making and problem solving skills. 2) Improve participant communication skills. 3) Improve participant's skills to resist social and peer pressures to use substance and engage in other risky behaviors. 4) Enhance participants understanding of personal responsibility within their family, community and society. 5) Enhance participant's ability to safety and effectively cope with stress, fear and anxiety. 6) Enhance participants' self-respect and self-confidence. It is our hope that the desired outcomes will be increased access to addictions treatment for high risk youth and improved client outcomes through increased quality of services and support.
