Centralized/Coordination Access

Program Description

The Metro Addiction Assessment Referral Service (MAARS) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) offers addiction assessment and referral services free of charge to anyone who lives in Toronto. At MAARS we serve adults of all ages, backgrounds, orientations and cultures, and place special emphasis on reaching out to people who may have difficulty finding the right resources. Our Phase 1 group intake provides a general overview of our service and prepares clients for the next step in the assessment. At this session clients are asked to complete some questionnaires related to their substance use. The Phase 1 session runs twice per week: on Tuesday mornings and on Thursday afternoons and takes about 1.5 hours (registration required). Following the session, clients will register for a face-to-face assessment with a clinician at MAARS where they will explore their substance use and the range of services and resources that are available. Wait time for a Phase 2 appointment is usually 2-3 weeks after Phase 1.

Access Information

Please call Access CAMH to register for Phase 1. Clients should call to self-refer. When calling, please state you are calling for a MAARS assessment. Clients can usually attend the next scheduled session. Third parties cannot refer without consent.
