Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment (DARE) Program

Type of Service

Residential Supportive Treatment - Addictions

Program Description

DARE (Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment), is an abstinence based 25 beds pre and post treatment program which addresses the needs of homeless adult men (18+), struggling with addictions. To be admitted, individuals must be sober, willing to establish and follow through with abstinence based treatment and a housing plan, and stable enough to participate in program activities. DARE provides the supportive environment homeless men need in order to address addictions. Clients receive case management, individual and group counselling, food, clothing, toiletries, and 24-hour shelter in a secure dormitory which is abstinence-based. Aftercare services are provided for clients who have completed their treatment programs. DARE helps clients to develop and follow individual housing plans. DARE also continues to support graduates living in the community. Group meetings, crisis intervention, referrals, and individual counselling help clients to live in recovery over the long term to help prevent relapse.
